About this blog~
My purpose in this blog is two fold:
1) To journal about our life. Children grow up so fast, I don’t want to forget the little things.
2) A place to share what I’m learning, and write about my (many) interests and passions: My family, and motherhood being the root of them all!
In a society constantly trying to belittle the importance of true, nurturing womanhood, I’m determined to embrace it! and while I am in no way an “expert”, I hope to be able to inspire and encouraging other mommies along a similar path of life. After all- I believe we have one of the most important jobs in the world as we shape the next generation!
I’m on a journey, but one step at a time, God is shaping me into the woman He want’s me to be!
This is my calling in life. My mission; Mamahood!
My name is Heather.
I am what some would call “Crunchy”, and enjoy practicing mindful/attachment parenting. I love my role as keeper of our home, and learning all I can about health & nutrition. I enjoy cooking with real, SOLE (sustainable, Organic, Local, Ethical) ingredients as I prepare nourishing meals for my family.
Some of my favorite things include- Books, music, a good cup of coffee or tea, dark chocolate, baking, crocheting, snuggling up with my hubby in front of a fire, long walks, the beach, tie-dye, fluffy cloth-diapered bums, baby-wearing, and playing with my children!
I love serving women and their babies. I’m studying to be a Birth Doula through DONA, I’m a La Leche League leader in the works, and I hope to become a natural childbirth educator…but ultimately, my dream is to be a midwife!…hmmm, someday! 🙂
About our family~
I’m married to my best friend, and wonderfully supportive husband, Bryce, since 11/’07 ! We have two precious little boys- BE (3/’09), and CJ (9/’10). We cherish each of our children as a gift from God, temporarily placed in our care to gently nurture and grow.
We live in a small town in GA. Our dream is to one day be out on property of our own, and homestead. We aim to live simply, believing it to be our responsibility as Christians to be good stewards of all that God has given us.
My husband and I are both home-school graduates, and we plan to home educate our children. We believe that life is a classroom, and learning begins the day you are born! …There is nothing more magical than watching my children discover new things! They teach me so much about the beauty of life!
We take a very pro-active role in our family’s health. I am continually fascinated with the beautiful, perfect way God created our bodies, in His image, not defective in any way. I strongly believe that Dr’s have their place, but only YOU can know what’s best for the individual needs of your family! Every choice & decision you make should be an educated one.
So that’s a bit about me and mine. Thanks for stopping by!
